Navdeep Singh (Preferred - Nav Jhansall) is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional based in Williams Lake, BC, Canada with a strong background in Clinical Psychology, Counselling, and Community Support Work. With a commitment to providing culturally competent care, Navdeep has developed a unique blend of skills through extensive education and hands-on experience in research, clinical assessment, and community outreach. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health Counselling at Southern New Hampshire University, Navdeep is also completed a Certificate in Addiction Care and Treatment from the University of British Columbia in 2024. Additionally, Navdeep holds a Diploma in Archeology and Indigenous Studies from Northern Lights College, showcasing a diverse academic background.
Navdeep's professional journey includes valuable internships and volunteer work, such as serving as a Research Assistant Intern at Global Human Development Inc. New York and a Clinical Psychology Intern at Cognizavest. These roles have allowed Navdeep to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy sessions. In the community, Navdeep worked Community Health Educator at Positive Living North, where they provide culturally sensitive counselling and education services to Indigenous individuals and communities.
Navdeep is also a Life Coach, guiding high school students through personal development programs. Currently, Nav is a family Alcohol and Drug Counsellor in Canada. With a strong commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation, Navdeep is well-versed in the social, economic, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples. Their expertise in mental health and addiction treatment, combined with a passion for advancing knowledge and skills, positions Navdeep as a valuable asset in the healthcare field. Outside of work, Navdeep enjoys engaging with diverse populations and is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
