ABOUT
Grace For Addictions emerged from a personal journey of overcoming profound struggles with substance use and mental health. Understanding the isolation and despair that can accompany these challenges, our founder envisioned a grassroots beacon of hope for individuals at rock bottom. After the tragic loss of his best friend due to the opioid epidemic and the lack of accessible support this only further solidified the commitment to creating an organization that believes in reducing stigma associated with addiction and mental health, lowering barriers to community support, and helping reduce the risk of relapse, homelessness, and overdoses.
Officially a 501(c)(3) non-profit since August 2024, Grace For Addictions has quickly grown, demonstrating a significant need for free services like this. Their dedicated team of volunteer coaches and facilitators, each with professional coaching or counseling backgrounds, provide pro bono support to individuals and families across the United States.
I'm Thomas DeGarmeaux, the founder and certified Life Coach dedicated to helping individuals break free from addiction and embrace a fulfilling life in recovery. My journey into life coaching is deeply personal, rooted in my own struggles with mental health and addiction, and the transformative process of turning my life around.
Like many of you, I have faced the darkness of addiction and the challenges of mental health issues. For years, I was trapped in a cycle that seemed impossible to break. However, with determination, support, and the right tools, I found a way out. My recovery journey was not easy, but it was profoundly enlightening and transformative. It was through this journey that I discovered my passion for helping others overcome similar struggles.

Grace For Addictions was founded on a deep understanding of the interconnected struggles of addiction, trauma, and mental health. Our focus is on serving people who are navigating recovery, often while facing additional challenges like poverty, incarceration, or homelessness.
We believe that healing should be accessible to everyone, especially those from low-income or marginalized backgrounds. That includes individuals with criminal records, those who’ve experienced housing instability, and anyone who’s felt left behind by traditional systems of support.
Grace For Addictions was created to be a safe, welcoming place for people seeking change—whether it's sobriety, mental wellness, re-entry, or personal growth. We offer compassionate, non-judgmental care rooted in peer support and lived experience.
Inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community, our hope is to lower barriers to life coaching by providing free services through a dedicated team of volunteer coaches and facilitators. We strive to fill gaps in local services, walking alongside individuals as they take steps out of darkness into a future filled with hope and purpose.
